Title of the sermon: The Law of Repulsion

Elements of the sermon:

The inevitability of the conflict between truth and falsehood.

The unchanging nature of Allah's laws.

Explanation of the continuing confrontation and its significance.

The obligation to repel falsehood for every Muslim.

Praise be to Allah, the Revealer and Supporter of truth, the Eradicator of falsehood, and I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah alone with no partner, and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. May Allah exalt him, his family, and his companions.

O servants of Allah, fear Allah with true fear, and be mindful of Him in secret and in public.

"O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam."

Servants of Allah:

Our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) once stood delivering a message from his Lord to his companions, saying: "Verily, my Lord commanded me to teach you what you didn't previously know about, which He taught me today. Every wealth I bestowed upon a servant is lawful, and I created my servants as true believers, but the devils came to them and led them astray from their religion, forbade them what I had made lawful for them, and commanded them to associate with Me that for which I had sent down no authority. Allah looked upon the people of the earth and detested them, Arab and non-Arab, except for remnants of the People of the Book."

Thus was the command, and thus it will be. Allah created His servants upon natural belief, but cursed Iblis sent his forces to misguide people from their Lord, commanding them to disbelief and immorality, making every vile and evil thing appear attractive. So, people took the devil as protectors instead of Allah, and Allah detested the people of the earth, Arab and non-Arab, except for remnants of His servants who preserved the religion of Allah and His oneness.

Brethren in Islam:

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth, the Guide. He sent down His books to the prophets to bring people out of darkness into light, from misguidance to guidance, and from death to life. But the devil inspired his allies to obstruct the way of Allah, to kill the prophets unjustly, and to kill those who command justice among people. The eternal struggle between truth and falsehood continued until Allah inherits the earth and whoever is on it.

There have always been faith and disbelief, truth and falsehood, injustice and justice, good and evil. Each group has allies that uphold it; the people of truth uphold it and act justly, while the people of falsehood uphold it and act unjustly. Allah has decreed that the outcome will be for the righteous, and destruction will be for the disbelieving, lying, misguided ones. He, the Most High, said:

قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ

"Indeed, there were ways of life before you, so travel through the land and see how was the end of those who denied."

In the midst of this struggle, Allah's unchanging laws always prevail.

"Do they then wait for anything other than the way of the ancients? But you will not find any change in the way of Allah, nor will you find any alteration in the way of Allah."

Allah's law in destroying the disbelieving criminals does not change, but before this law, there are others that He enacts as a prelude and preparation for it, such as the law of delaying the disbelievers, the law of testing and purifying the believers, the law of alternation among people, and the law of repulsion, then the law of victory and empowerment.

Perhaps among the laws that we should reflect on these days is the law of repulsion or counteraction. Allah mentioned it in two places in His Book. He mentioned it at the end of the story of Talut and Goliath, how Allah supported the believing few against the tyrant Goliath's army, how Allah aided His servants, and how He supported David (peace be upon him) who killed Goliath and to whom Allah gave the kingdom, wisdom, and taught him what He willed. Allah said:

"So, they defeated them by the permission of Allah, and David killed Goliath, and Allah gave him the kingdom and wisdom and taught him from what He willed. And if it were not for Allah's repelling some people by others, the earth would have been corrupted, but Allah is full of bounty to the world."

And He also mentioned it in the story of the Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions, when the disbelievers of Mecca unjustly and hostilely expelled them to Medina. Allah said:

"Permission to fight has been given to those who are being fought because they were wronged. And indeed, Allah is competent to give them victory. Those who have been evicted from their homes without right - only because they say, 'Our Lord is Allah.' And were it not for Allah's repelling some people by others, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques where the name of Allah is much mentioned would have been destroyed. And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might."

The law of repulsion means that Allah repels the disbelievers with the believers, the people of falsehood with the people of truth, and the people of corruption with the people of righteousness. Allah revives in the hearts of the people of faith the love of Him and jihad in His cause and the rejection of evil, so they stand for Allah alone, seeking His aid; repelling the people of disbelief and misguidance until Allah eradicates falsehood and its people with them.

Without this repulsion, the earth would have been corrupted, disbelief and filth would have prevailed, and the places where the Lord of the worlds is worshipped alone without any partner would have been destroyed. Then the punishment of Allah would have come upon the earth, which spares nothing and leaves nothing. So, the stand of the people of truth against the people of falsehood is a salvation for the earth and its inhabitants.

Servants of Allah:

Do you now understand why destruction lies in abandoning jihad for the sake of Allah? What if the disbelievers prevailed over the entire earth and implemented their corruption and tyranny? What if faith, justice, and purity were eradicated from the earth, and disbelief, injustice, and filth encompassed creation? What would life be like for people then? Allah Almighty says:

"Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who disbelieve fight in the cause of Taghut. So fight against the allies of Satan. Indeed, the plot of Satan has ever been weak."

The Taghut is everything that man has sanctified in transgression, in opposition to the law of the Most Merciful. It is the crossing of the boundaries of truth, justice, good, and nature, to falsehood, injustice, evil, and corruption. It is the replacement of disbelief with faith, polytheism with monotheism, and dissolution with uprightness. The allies of the Taghut do not cease fighting in its cause by all means, their hearts filled with rage, their souls with evil, standing up to obstruct the way of Allah, seeking it crooked. They are not pleased except with disbelief and misguidance, even forcibly through oppression and fighting, as Allah says:

وَلَا يَزَالُونَ يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ حَتَّى يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَنْ دِينِكُمْ إِنِ اسْتَطَاعُوا

"And they will continue to fight you until they turn you back from your religion if they are able."

And He, the Most High, has said:

إِنْ يَثْقَفُوكُمْ يَكُونُوا لَكُمْ أَعْدَاءً وَيَبْسُطُوا إِلَيْكُمْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَلْسِنَتَهُمْ بِالسُّوءِ وَوَدُّوا لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ

"If they gain dominance over you, they would be to you as enemies and extend against you their hands and their tongues with evil, and they wish you would disbelieve."

Servants of Allah:

The state of the people of falsehood may prevail one day, but the people of truth do not surrender. They repel that fate with the decree most beloved to Allah, which is jihad in His cause in every possible way, each in his place, and Allah supports and guides them. Therefore, it is incumbent upon scholars and callers of truth to take up the responsibility of teaching people and repelling falsehood, by revealing the truth and dispelling doubts about it.

When liars began to fabricate hadiths against the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), Allah revived scholars of hadith and their students in the nation. They stood up against these liars and exposed their forgeries, until Allah unveiled their falsehood and clarified their deception. It was said to Ibn al-Mubarak (may Allah have mercy on him): "What should we do with these fabricated hadiths?" He replied: "The giants will take care of them."

When the people of heresies from the misguided sects stirred up delusions and desires against the pure Islamic creed, Allah revived the scholars of the Sunnah in the nation. They refuted their distortions and misguidance, as narrated from the Prophet (ﷺ): "This knowledge will be carried by the trustworthy of each generation. They will remove from it the distortion of those going to extremes, the false claims of the liars, and the interpretation of the ignorant." And truly said was: "If not for the people of the pens, the heretics would have preached from the pulpits."

Therefore, it is obligatory for the people of obedience to command good and forbid evil, so that Allah may repel evil and its people with them. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The example of the one standing for the limits of Allah and the one falling into them is like the example of people who drew lots for a ship. Some of them got its upper part and some its lower part. Those in the lower part used to pass by those above them to get water, so they said, "If we make a hole in our share, we will not harm those above us." If they left them to do what they wanted, they would all have been destroyed, but if they took their hands, they all would have been saved." Narrated by al-Bukhari.

Educators must fulfill their duty of education and purification of generations; to repel the corruption of the dissolute and the licentious. And the greatest and highest repulsion is for the people of Islam to repel the people of idols and tyranny with jihad for the sake of Allah as much as possible, and in pursuit of benefit; to repel their disbelief, filth, and injustice, otherwise corruption will prevail on the earth. Victory for the truth and its people is a duty:

إِلَّا تَفْعَلُوهُ تَكُنْ فِتْنَةٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَفَسَادٌ كَبِيرٌ

"If you do not do it, there will be a trial on earth and great corruption."

May Allah bless you and me with the great Quran, and may He benefit me and you with the verses and the wise reminder, and I ask Allah for forgiveness for me and for you, so ask Him for forgiveness. He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

The Second Sermon

Praise be to Allah, and may Allah exalt and send blessings to the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family, his companions, and those who follow him. And then:

Fear Allah, O servants of Allah, with true fear, and be mindful of Him in secret and in public.

Servants of Allah, Umm al-Mu'minin Zainab, may Allah be pleased with her, narrates:
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came out one day frightened, his face red, saying, 'There is no deity worthy of worship but Allah, woe to the Arabs from a near evil. Today a breach has been made in the barrier of Gog and Magog like this,' and he made a circle with his thumb and the one next to it. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, will we be destroyed while there are righteous people among us?' He said: 'Yes, when filth becomes prevalent."' Narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.

There are only two options: either filth becomes prevalent and general destruction comes, or repulsion occurs and then comes salvation. So, let every Muslim fulfill his duty, repel as much as he can, support the religion of Allah with his utmost effort, and know that Allah is then his supporter and helper.

"O you who believe! Be the helpers of Allah, just as Jesus, the son of Mary, said to the disciples, "Who are my helpers for Allah?" The disciples said, "We are the helpers of Allah." Then a faction of the Children of Israel believed, and a faction disbelieved. So We supported those who believed against their enemy, and they became dominant."

O Allah, support Islam and honor the Muslims, and destroy the criminal Jews. O Allah, send tranquility to the hearts of the Mujahideen in Your cause, save Your oppressed servants, and raise the banner of religion, with Your strength, O Powerful, O Mighty.

O Allah, guide our ruler to what You love and are pleased with, and lead him to righteousness and piety. Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.

Servants of Allah, remember Allah a lot, and glorify Him in the morning and the evening. And our final prayer is that all praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
